Create a New Event in Your Workspace

This step by step guide walks you through the process of setting up and event.

Creating a new event in your Blink workspace is the first step toward managing a smooth and successful experience.

Access Your Workspace

  • Log in to the Blink dashboard.

  • On the Home Page you can see a list of all your available workspaces and events.

  • To create a new event, click the “Create New Event” button on the right side of your selected workspace.

After clicking “Create New Event,” you will be redirected to the New Event Form screen, where you'll need to enter key information for your event, as follows:

Basic Info

  • Thumbnail (Optional): Upload a thumbnail image for your event by clicking on the image upload area.

  • Event Name (Required): Provide a unique name for your event.

  • Event Type (Required): Select the event type from the dropdown menu.

  • Event Website (Optional): If you have a dedicated website for the event, you can enter its URL here.

  • Event Slug (Required): This will form the URL for your event's web page. Make sure it’s unique to avoid conflicts.

  • Workspace (Required): Select the workspace where the event will reside from the dropdown menu.

Time and Date

  • Start Date (Required): Choose from the calendar the start date of your event.

  • Start Time (Required): Add a specific time for the starting date of your event.

  • End Date (Required): Choose from the calendar the end date of your event.

  • End Time (Required): Add a specific time for the ending date of your event.

  • Timezone (Required): Choose the timezone of your event from the dropdown menu.

  • Country Code (Required): Choose the country code of your event from the dropdown menu.

Event Location

  • Map (Optional): Click on the Pencil Icon to open a map where you can pin the location of your event on this map.

  • Latitude (Required): Add the latitude for your event's location.

  • Longitude (Required): Add the longitude for your event's location.

Invitation Settings

  • Flight Options (Required): Choose from the dropdown menu how the flight booking will be handled.

    • Off: No flight booking will be managed through the event.

    • Event-Defined Booking: The event will define how flight bookings are managed.

    • Attendee-Driven Booking: Attendees will manage their own flight bookings.

    • Admin-Managed Booking: The event admin will manage flight bookings for attendees.

  • Accommodation Options (Required): Choose from the dropdown menu how the accommodation booking will be handled.

    • Attendee-Driven Booking: Attendees will manage their own accommodation bookings.

    • Admin-Managed Booking: The event admin will manage accommodation bookings for attendees.

    • Off: No accommodation booking will be managed through the event.

Advanced Configuration

  • Event Flight (Optional): Choose the destinations From & To for your flight.

  • Generate Visitor QR Code: Toggle this on if you need a QR code to be shared for your visitors.

Save the Event

Once all the fields are completed, click the “Create” button to finalize the creation of your event. You will now see the event added to your workspace dashboard, where you can further manage and edit it.
