Create a New Coupon Code

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a new coupon in the Management dashboard. Coupons can be used to offer additional discounts, promotions, or incentives to customers, enhancing engagement and boosting sales.

Choosing a Workspace

Option 1: Selecting an Existing Workspace

  1. Browse through the list of workspaces displayed.

  2. Use the Search Bar at the top to find a specific workspace by typing its name.

  3. Identify the workspace you want to work on (e.g., Alexander Event as highlighted in the image).

  4. Click on the workspace card to select and access it.

Select the Coupons Tab

  1. Under the Badges category, locate and click on Coupons.

  2. This will open the Coupons Tab, where you can view and manage coupon-related data.

Configuring Coupon Details

Fill in the Coupon Details

Name

  • Enter a descriptive name for the coupon in the Name field.

  • Example: "Summer Sales" or "Holiday Discount."

Code

  • You can either:

    • Enter a custom coupon code manually.

    • Click Generate Code to automatically create a unique code.

Description

  • Provide additional details or instructions about the coupon in the Description field.

  • Use formatting options (bold, italics, underline) to make it visually appealing.

Set Availability and Expiry

Available From

  • Click the calendar icon or enter a start date (e.g., today’s date) in the Available From field.

Expires At

  • Enter the expiry date in the Expires At field to set when the coupon will no longer be valid.

Specify Additional Details

Coupon Category

  • Select a category for the coupon from the Coupon Category dropdown.

  • Categories help organize and filter coupons effectively.

Limit Usage

  • Enter a number in the Limit Usage To field to restrict the number of times the coupon can be used.

  • Example: Enter "20" if the coupon can be used a maximum of 20 times.

Save the Coupon

  1. Once all the required fields are completed, click the Save button at the top-right corner.

  2. If you decide not to proceed, click Cancel to discard the coupon creation process.

Configurable Rules

1. Order Includes Specified Product(s)

  • Purpose: Restrict the coupon to apply only if the order includes according to the below cases in the upcoming steps "How to configure" , based on admin preferences.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Use the Search Products field to select one or more products.

    3. Specify the condition:

      • At least one: Requires at least one of the selected products in the cart.

      • Match all of these rules: Mark this option if coupon need to comply all of the rules stated in the form.

      • Match any of these rules: Mark this option if all or any or the rules stated in the form are meet.

    4. Save the configuration.

2. Order Includes Specified Product(s) Quantity

  • Purpose: Restrict the coupon to apply based on the quantity of specific products in the order.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Use the Search Products field to choose the product(s).

    3. Define the Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity for the products.

    4. Save the configuration.

3. Order Total Meets These Criteria

  • Purpose: Restrict the coupon to apply based on the total order value.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Specify the criteria:

      • Greater Than: Set a minimum order value.

      • Less Than: Set a maximum order value.

    3. Save the configuration.

4. Available Only to Specified Users

  • Purpose: Restrict the coupon to specific users.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Use the Search Users field to select the eligible users.

    3. Save the configuration.

5. Must Be the Customer's First Order

  • Purpose: Apply the coupon only if it is the user's first order.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Save the configuration.

6. Available Only to Logged-In Users

  • Purpose: Restrict the coupon to logged-in users only.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Save the configuration.

7. Only One Use Per User

  • Purpose: Limit the coupon usage to one time per user.

  • How to Configure:

    1. Enable the toggle for this rule.

    2. Save the configuration.

Applying and Saving Rules

  1. Once all the necessary rules are configured, click the Update button at the top-right corner.

  2. If you decide not to save the changes, click Cancel.

Key Fields in the Actions Tab

Calculator

  • Purpose: Select the method by which the coupon discount will be calculated.

How to Configure:

  1. Open the dropdown menu under Calculator.

  2. Select the desired calculation method.

Options Available

1. Flat Percent

  • Description: Applies a percentage discount to the order total.

  • Example:

    • Flat Percent: 10%

    • If the order total is $100, the discount applied will be $10 (10% of $100).

  • Use Case: Suitable for general promotions, such as bulk badges sale or seasonal discounts.

2. Flat Rate (Per Cart Item)

  • Description: Applies the discount per each badge type, reflecting the updated totals on the order summary.

  • Example:

    • Flat Rate Discount: $5 Per Badge Type

    • If the cart contains three different badge types, a total discount of $15 will be applied (3 × $5 per badge type).

    • If the cart includes 2 Tech Badges and 1 Screening Badge, the discount is applied individually to each badge type. This means the coupon applies per item within the designated badge type, ensuring clarity in how discounts are calculated.

  • Use Case: Ideal for promoting individual badges with a specific discount.

3. Flat Rate (Per Product Type)

  • Description: Applies the discount to each single item individually

  • Example:

    • Flat Rate: $5

    • If the cart includes 2 Tech and 1 musical items, the discount is applied based on product categories or types.

  • Use Case: Useful for category-specific promotions (e.g., $10 off all Tech Badges).

Managing Coupon Categories

Admins have full control over coupon categories, allowing them to edit or delete categories as needed. Admins can select "Edit Category" to modify details such as the category name or associated discount codes by clicking the three-dot menu next to a category.

If a category is no longer required, selecting "Delete Category" will permanently remove it from the system. This ensures flexibility in managing promotional campaigns while keeping coupon offerings up to date.

To edit or delete an existing coupon, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Coupons tab under the Badges category in the Event Config section.

  2. Locate the coupon you want to edit or delete.

  3. Click the three dots (options menu) next to the coupon.

  4. To Edit: Select Edit Coupon, make the necessary changes, and click Save.

  5. To Delete: Select Delete Coupon and confirm the deletion.

Can I limit how many times a coupon is used?

Yes, in the Coupon Details section, use the Limit Usage To field to specify the maximum number of times the coupon can be used.

How can I track the performance of my coupons?
