The Admission Portal enables a smooth, self-service check-in process for attendees at event entry points. It supports both QR scanning and manual check-in, integrates with attendee profiles, and can be customized based on role-based access and device configurations.

Admission Portal - Link Devices

Organizers can start up to 10 web sessions of the Admission Portal by scanning its QR code using the Organizer app.
They can manage and revoke active sessions directly from the app.

Navigate to Link Device

  1. Open the Organizer App on your phone.

  2. Tap More in the bottom navigation.

  3. Go to Settings → Link Device.

Start a New Session

  1. On the Link Devices screen, tap “Link Device”.

  2. The camera will activate, ready to scan a QR code.

Scan the QR Code on the Portal Screen

  1. On the external screen (tablet or desktop), go to the Blink Portal Login Page.

  2. Select “Log in by QR Code”.

  3. Scan the code using your phone camera.

Confirm Successful Linking

  1. Once scanned, your device will link instantly.

  2. You’ll see the newly linked device under “Active Devices”, along with:

    • Device name (e.g., iPhone 14 Pro, Mac OS)

    • Last active timestamp

    • A success message: “Account linked successfully”

You can link multiple devices and manage them from this screen.

Log In to the Admission Portal with QR Code

Step 1: Open the Admission Portal on a Web Device

  • Navigate to the event's Admission Portal login screen.

  • You will see two login options:

    • Email Login

    • QR Code Login

Select "Log in with QR Code"

Use the Organizer App to Scan the QR Code

  1. On your mobile device, open the Organizer App.

  2. Go to Settings → Link Device.

  3. Tap “Link Device” to open the scanner.

  4. Point your camera at the QR code displayed on the portal screen.

You’re In!

  1. Once scanned, the portal will authenticate your session.

  2. You’ll be redirected to the portal dashboard with access to:

    • Search Attendees

    • Scan QR Codes

  3. The device is now linked and listed under your active sessions.

  • Click on **“Log in by QR Code

Access Notes

  • Up to 10 devices can be linked simultaneously to a single organizer account.

  • Devices can be unlinked manually from the Link Devices section in the Organizer App.

  • All sessions are securely encrypted and logged in real-time.

Admission Portal

  • The entry point for searching attendees, scanning QR codes, viewing badge details, and printing badges.

  • Can be configured in real-time based on role and security preferences.

Configure Access in the Management Dashboard

Management Dashboard → Admission Settings

  • Admins can:

    • Enable or disable manual name search

    • Enable or disable QR code scanning

    • Allow badge printing

    • Enforce SMS/email verification

Configuration Modes

1. Full Access Mode

(Default Configuration)

  • Both QR scanning and manual attendee search are enabled.

  • Staff can check in guests using a QR code or search by name.

  • Ideal for flexible, high-traffic entry points.

2. Manual Search Only

  • Only name-based search is allowed.

  • Staff can find attendees by typing their name to view and manage badge info.

  • QR scanning is disabled.

  • Controlled via “Enable Manual Search Only” in dashboard settings.

  • Best for controlled check-in desks or pre-registration counters.

QR Code Only

  • Only QR scanning is enabled.

  • Manual search is disabled entirely.

  • Staff must scan a badge or phone QR to check in or verify a guest.

  • Enabled via “Enable QR Code Only” in dashboard settings.

  • Recommended for self-service kiosks or speed-gates.

Admission Portal - Search Attendee

Organizers can search for attendees by name, partial name, email, phone number, or badge ID. Once an attendee is found, organizers can view and confirm badge details. The attendee will then be prompted at the self-kiosk to print their badge, which will be used for session access.

Select the Attendee

  • The results will display a list of matching attendees, including:

    • Name

    • Company

    • Role (e.g., Speaker)

    • Badge Tier (e.g., Platinum, Music)

Tap on the attendee’s name to proceed.

View & Confirm Badge

  • A digital preview of the badge appears, showing:

    • Badge tier & visual design

    • Name and organization

    • City/country (if available)

    • QR code for access or scanning

Print Badge

You have two options:

  1. Confirm & Print: Instantly prints the badge with the current details.

  2. Verify & Print: Use this if the attendee is present to confirm personal details before printing.

This ensures each badge is printed accurately and only once per person unless reprints are needed.

Admission Portal - Scan QR Code

Organizers can scan an attendee’s QR code using either the device camera or a connected QR scanning device. The Admission Portal instantly retrieves and verifies badge details, then prompts the attendee at the self-kiosk to print their badge for session access.
